New vehicle masses and dimensions regulations published

The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the long-awaited update of the General Vehicle Regulations regarding masses and dimensions, a key regulation for the development and modernisation of road transport in Spain.

This new legal framework introduces significant changes to the limits and specifications regulating the technical characteristics of commercial vehicles, including those intended for the transport of goods in tanks.

Main new features:

• Increases in maximum authorised mass for alternative fuel and zero emission vehicles.
• Additional benefits for vehicles used in urban and intermodal transport.
• New specific mass configurations for the transport of round wood.

Updated maximum permitted lengths and dimensions for different types of vehicles and assemblies.
